Stoneware ball-shaped vase with glazes, signed on the base: Seris – H. 26 cm Jean-Claude Séris (born 1941) Incised signature on the base Biographical details Born in 1941, Jean-Claude Séris trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and undertook an internship at Ratilly in 1974. Settling the following year in Tonneins near Agen, he devoted himself primarily to devising forms for the art of Ikebana, notably under the influence of the Sogetsu school, of which he is a qualified member. He has been teaching ikebana since 1984.
