Description
A set of three large stone garden sculptures, depicting anthropomorphic toads or frogs. Carved limestone displaying a significant outdoor patina, with moss, lichens, dirt and erosion. Each of the amphibians is depicted holding a cylindrical vase in front of it, decorated with incised geometric patterns and stylised leaves. The highly stylised heads feature large eyes in relief and a wide mouth outlined by a double line. The reverse sides are carved with plant motifs in shallow relief. Work in the Chinese style, second half of the 20th century. H: 102 – W: 50 – D: 52 cm Damage and losses.
