Henri Matisse Jazz – 41 x 31.5 x 7 cm Cream-coloured slipcase (1st lithographic edition) This complete edition of the book Jazz features the twenty or so loose plates created by Henri Matisse in 1947 for Tériade. It was produced on a 1908 Marinoni Voirin flatbed press, with each plate printed colour by colour. Up to 120 colours were used to reproduce this edition. These brightly coloured, gouache-painted and cut-out sheets are accompanied by handwritten and calligraphic reflections, and essays by two specialists on the artist. (publisher’s information). Facsimile based on copy no. 169 of the original 1947 edition of Henri MATISSE’s Jazz. Printed here in lithography by the Mourlot printing house under the direction of Claude Draeger and Mario Ferreri. Printing completed on 15 October 2004. 250 gsm Lana Royal paper by Caligo.
