Kachan Kork carpet Iran, Shah era, circa 1940–1950 Lambswool pile, of a silky quality on a cotton backing. Prayer-shaped carpet with an ivory field decorated with a crenellated mihrab featuring a vase with a bouquet of delicately rendered flowers in polychrome, surrounded by two columns and multicoloured flowering plants. Main border in Prussian blue with motifs echoing the central field Density approx. 7,000 knots per square decimetre (good overall condition) 203 x 127 cm
