Fine antique Isfahan, Iran Circa 1940–50 Dimensions: 205 x 130 cm High-quality silky wool pile on a cotton backing Density: approx. 7,000 knots per square decimetre Some oxidation and natural wear Brick-red field decorated with stylised floral palmette scrolls framing a central poly-lobed medallion in Prussian blue and orange, in the shape of a stylised diamond. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. Brick-red border decorated with a scattering of finely drawn floral bulbs.
