But it was on Belle-Île and Ouessant that he refined his technique for painting the rocks and the effects of light on the sea. [...] In 1920, [Marie Réol and Désiré-Lucas] took up residence near Goulphar, close to the famous Aiguilles de Port-Coton. Influenced by Monet’s vibrant brushwork, Désiré-Lucas painted the Aiguilles de Port-Coton.
