Description
A pair of curved corner pieces with marquetry decoration featuring bouquets of leafy and flowering branches on a satin-finish background, framed by bands of boxwood and amaranth (cracks, missing sections and restorations). They open via a single door panel and rest on two curved front legs. Chiselled and gilded bronze fittings (showing wear), including finials, feet, apron and frames with foliage and floral motifs. Tops in Aleppo breccia marble (replaced). Stamped René DUBOIS, admitted as a master on 25 June 1755. Louis XV period. Height: 95 cm – Width: 78 cm – Depth: 59 cm Note: Son of Jacques Dubois, with whom he collaborated until the latter’s death in 1763. He then took over his father’s workshop in partnership with his mother and continued to use his father’s mark.
