Description
A drop-leaf secretary desk in a bevelled-sided cabinet, made of rosewood veneer set within amaranth frames, inlaid with a medallion depicting a horseman, fire pots and leafy branches, opening via a drawer, a hinged top revealing a fitted interior and two hinged doors (with missing sections, warping and cracks).
Stamped twice with ‘François-Gaspard TEUNÉ’, who was admitted as a master on 29 March 1766, and bearing the guild hallmark.
Top of grey marble with white veining.
Louis XVI period.
