Tapestry woven in wool and silk with its original border (signs of wear, previous restorations, reduced in height and probably in width). Late 17th or early 18th century. Height: 260 cm – Width: 365 cm Note: Set amidst lush greenery, Diana is depicted beside a stream, admiring her reflection in the mirror placed on the ground amongst her jewellery and precious objects, whilst two maids attend to her personal care. The lush vegetation that fills the right-hand side of the composition contrasts with a controlled and orderly natural setting, highlighting the contrast between the wild and the domesticated.
