Description
Chiraz carpet (warp, weft and pile in wool), South-West Persia, circa 1940–1970. (Slight wear, frayed and damaged selvedges.) Length: 250 cm; Width: 165 cm. The carpet is adorned with a large crenellated red hexagon featuring geometric floral motifs, accented by a small navy blue diamond, extended by two pendants. The entire composition is embellished with four midnight-blue spandrels. The main ivory border, featuring a geometric design, is framed by two counter-borders. Expert: Alexandre CHEVALIER
