Dimensions: 380 x 285 cm.
Wool velour on a cotton backing.
Design reminiscent of the carpets commissioned by Colbert for Louis XIV, inspired by Charles Lebrun’s cartoons from the late 17th century.
Ivory field decorated with a large central floral medallion in the style of a pendant, framed by four sky-blue panels inlaid with fleurs-de-lis encircled by laurel leaves.
Four exceptional spandrels featuring scrolls of branches with polychrome leaves and flowers, terminating in finely drawn cornucopias.
Beautiful framing, resembling a picture frame, formed by a sky-blue border with gold-yellow scrolls.
