A romantic pastoral scene, an aristocratic countryside setting inspired by the cartoons of François Boucher: the delights of the garden of love and its pastoral amusements and rural romances by the water’s edge, with a bridge, garden and urban architecture in the background. The female figure on the left is depicted with gardening and country-walking accessories, and a basket for picking flowers, facing a male figure holding a branch to which a rope is attached, with two rings at the end for playing the ring game.

Beautiful polychromy.
Remarkably fresh colours.
Restored (cut at the top)
Lined and braided tapestry.
