170. 170W An interesting 19th century centre seconds regulator Fernando Nizet The tall hood with shaped brass-bound door and long side glazed panels over a long trunk with lenticle, the base with ball feet. The shaped dial measuring a maximum of 34cm x 25.5cm framed by an engraved wheatear border, a moon phase and age arc above the Roman and Arabic chapter ring, signed centre in a ribbon within foliate scrolls, blued steel hands (centre seconds hand missing). The weight driven movement with tall tapering plates (max 24cm x 11.5cm) united by six knopped pillars, with smooth winding barrel, high count pinions and long steel pallet arm to the deadbeat 'scape wheel. The pendulum suspended on a knifed edge with rating nut above. Provenance Property of a Distinguished Private Collector
