A 19th-century Russian Orthodox bronze icon tetraptych, ‘The Twelve Great Feasts and the Veneration A 19th-century Russian Orthodox bronze icon tetraptych, ‘The Twelve Great Feasts and the Veneration of the Icons of the Mother of God’. The model was first produced in the early 18th century in the metal foundries of the Old Believer community of Vyg in Pomorye. Dated early examples are known from 1717 and 1729. This type remained in production throughout the 19th century in various Russian workshops. 18 x 37 cm. -
