A darkly patinated and partly gilded bronze statue of a kneeling Buddhist monk. A darkly patinated and partly gilded bronze statue of a kneeling Buddhist monk, his hands brought together in front of his chest in the anjali mudra, a gesture of reverence and devotion. Clad in a monk’s robe draped over one shoulder and seated on a moulded plinth. South-East Asia, probably Thailand or Myanmar, 19th/20th century. With wear to the gilding and signs of age and use. H. 20 cm. -
