VIETNAM, Bien Hoa school, 20th century A large circular dish with a scalloped edge, in enamelled and incised stoneware. The umbilicus is decorated in blue on a cream background with a fish, the rim decorated with a frieze of alternating crosses and stylised flowers in cartouches. The reverse of the bowl is decorated with green and brown enamel foliage and stylised scrolls. Bien Hoa mark on reverse. Provenance: the current owner's grandparents were stationed in Saigon (HCN) in the 1940s. Diameter: 34 cm
