Description
JAPAN, Edo period Two wakizashi swords mounted in koshirae. The first with unokubi-zukuri blade. "Hamon" (temper line) not perceptible. Iron tsuba maru-gata with sukashi decoration of two stylised peonies. Braided silk handle on a "same" (shagreen) background, black lacquered wooden scabbard. The second has an unokubi-zukuri blade. "Hamon" (temper line) not perceptible. Iron tsuba mokko gata. Braided silk handle on a "same" (shagreen) base, black lacquered wooden scabbard. Their kozukas are missing. Wear, oxidation. Nagasa (blade size) of the first: 41 cm Nagasa of the second: 39.7 cm
