CHINA, circa 1900 Pair of rectangular armchairs in red lacquered wood with polychrome decoration of dragons, bats, leafy branches and Greek friezes. The straight back, armrests and crossbar are decorated with bas-reliefs and gold highlights depicting figures in various scenes. The seat is engraved with a scholar and three elegant women in a landscape. The whole resting on a low brace. H. 98 - W 53.5 - D 41 cm. (Worn, repainted and missing lacquer).
