IRAN - Qajar, 19th century Kendi in siliceous paste ceramic, moulded and glazed in polychrome on a deep cobalt blue ground under a transparent glaze. The globular body, depicting poetic scenes of figures in traditional dress among flowers and foliage, flanked by a bulbous spout and topped by a flared neck narrowing at the lip. H. 21 cm (Chips to the heel, dents to the glaze on the neck).
