ARABIAN PENINSULA, 19th century Arab sword Slightly curved European blade. Mounts probably in vermeil with filigree decoration, wooden handle. The beautiful bronzed steel attachment ring, decorated in gold with koftgari and bearing invocations to 'Ali, is a remarkable feature and suggests the re-use of an element of Persian origin.
