Description

GARNESSON, PARIS. Country-style writing case made of cardboard and green morocco leather. The set comprises a wallet with a single inner pocket, from which unrolls a writing mat ending in a receptacle. This compartment holds a cylindrical case with three compartments, which in turn contains two inkwells. The folder is stamped on the inside, top left: ‘Garnesson Maison (?) Egalité’. Inside the compartment, a label bearing the handwritten inscription “Garnesson / Palais Royal No. 25 and Gallerie de Pierre No. 56”. A Parisian piece from the early 19th century.
