Description
An Italian Cassone or wedding chest of rectangular cross-section in moulded and carved walnut, the front decorated with horses and putti bearing a coat of arms in a frame of leafy scrolls. The straight uprights are decorated in high relief with a faun and a young woman, and rest on leonine legs linked by a belt decorated with friezes of ovals and acanthus leaves.
Lateral wrought iron carrying handles.
Renaissance work from the 16th century.
