Description
Throne or ceremonial armchair in moulded and gilded carved wood, the backrest crowned with a closed crown surmounted by a crescent of three stars.
It is supported by two clasps flanking a mandorla-shaped medallion surrounded by a frieze of interlacing and pearls. The uprights adorned with falling water leaves support two armrests with cuffs ending in scrolls adorned with acanthus leaves. The belt, carved with alternating pearls and ribbons, is supported by four tapered and gadrooned legs.
Seat and seat panel in red velvet.
Historicist work from the 19th century.
Height 171 cm. Width 78 cm. Depth 75 cm.
Brass medallion. Chips and wear to the gilding.
