Description
RUSSIAN SOVIET PORCELAIN PROPAGANDA PLATE The centre is painted with a sheaf of wheat and various agricultural tools, including a sickle, a scythe, a rake and a pitchfork, all set within a rust-coloured star surrounded by stylised fruit plants. Produced by the Petrograd State Porcelain Factory, based on a design by Sergei Vasilievich Chekhonin (1878–1936) The rim bears the inscription: “Whoever is not with us is against us” in Cyrillic, with scattered leaves, and a brown-red striped border. The reverse bears the date ‘1922’, an inscription in Cyrillic and a blue underglaze state mark depicting a hammer, a sickle and a cogwheel. Diameter: approx. 24 cm. Good condition
