SCULPTURE ‘HORSE RIDER’ TANG DYNASTY, CHINA (618–907) A partially polychromed terracotta mingqi depicting a horseman and his horse at a standstill. The horseman, with his arms raised and outstretched as if pulling on the reins, is dressed in trousers and a long tunic, his hair gathered into a high bun. The horse has its neck stretched out, its gaze fixed straight ahead. Rests on a wooden plinth attached to the figure. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Michel Jeuillard’s Galerie Démons et Merveilles, dated 14 June 1997. H: 36 cm, L: approx. 32.5 cm. As is.
