"César BALDACCINI, known as CÉSAR (1921–1998), and the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques Award for Best Production Design to Mr Pierre GUFFROY (1926–2010) in 1987 for Roman Polanski’s film “PIRATES”, in bronze with a gold patina, signed on the reverse “ César” with the Blanchet foundry mark; Height: 30 cm, Mr Pierre Guffroy is undoubtedly one of the greatest art directors and set designers in the French film industry. A student at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts, INSAD and later IHDEC, he began his career on André Hunebelle’s film “Le Bossu” in 1959.
