Attributed to Jean de CHASTEAUNEUF (1877–1961), “The Stream”, oil on panel, unsigned, with a label on the reverse; H: 71 cm, W: 56 cm. Jean de Chasteauneuf was a member of the Murol School. This group brought together artists who came to paint in this mountain village between the Puy de Sancy and the Puy de Dôme. It reached its peak between 1910 and 1930. As well as the Parisian members, Jean de Chasteauneuf would visit as a local, since his studio was situated at the Château de la Bâtisse, where he was born.
