Modern Prints. Fifty previously unpublished original prints in colour and black and white by leading modern French and foreign artists. Paris, [Charles Masson, Henri Piazza], Imprimerie Champenois. [1898–1899]. Folio (sheet dimensions: 310 x 405 mm). Publisher’s percaline binding with gilt title on the front cover. From May 1897 to April 1899, *L’Estampe Moderne* published a monthly portfolio of four original and previously unpublished lithographs produced especially for the journal. The greatest contemporary French and foreign artists contributed to this publication. 49 prints, all mounted on gusset. Each is presented in its own silk-paper sleeve bearing the title, printed text, and the inscription ‘Original, previously unpublished colour print. Created especially by the artist for *L’Estampe moderne*’, as well as its dry stamp depicting a child with hair blowing in the wind, in the bottom right-hand margin. The prints are mostly printed on heavy vellum paper, with a few on laminated laid paper (one print missing; signs of damp and a few pinholes; stained cover; tear)
