Description
TSUKIOKA KOGYO (1869-1927). Two prints, surimono, shikishiban, Rat nibbling a radish and Mandarin ducks and plum blossom. Signed Kogyo and stamped Toshihisa and Kogyo. Publisher Matsuki Heikichi. Rehauts of gofun. (Bends, cut, slightly insolated, top corner glued, small tears, lined) Length 23 cm - Width 24 cm Attached : A set of yellow and red paper TALISMANS used in Taoist temples, printed with images of Taoist deities and incantations, China. Reference: Two similar prints in the British Museum, no. 1946,0209,0.125 and 1906,1220,0.1676. These two surimono are part of a series of fifty kacho-e (flowers and birds) produced by Kogyo mainly for export.
