JAPAN - MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912). A black lacquer Suzuribako decorated in hira maki-e with gold lacquer and inlaid with mother-of-pearl and mitsuda with three figures picking rice. The interior in gold nashiji lacquer decorated in gold hira maki-e lacquer with a scarecrow in a rice field, birds flying above. The interior includes a flower-shaped shibuichi mizuhire, an ink stone and two brushes. Height 25.5 cm - Width 22 cm
