Settled in western Côte d'Ivoire and Liberia, the Dan developed ritual spoons called wunkirmian, associated with major community ceremonies. These objects were entrusted to a woman renowned for her generosity and cooking skills, who was responsible for organising the feasts. During these events, she would parade and dance with the spoon, distributing food and rice to the audience in a gesture that was both social and symbolic.
