INFORMATION : The series known as the "156 engravings" is the last engraved by Picasso (then aged over 90) between 1970 and 1972. These plates were exhibited at the Louise Leiris gallery from 24 January to 24 February 1973, a few weeks before the artist's death, and the edition was completed in 1978 in the Crommelynck workshops, faithful friends of Picasso. They bear the artist's signature stamp (Lugt 2026e).
