Description
A rectangular console table in carved, red-lacquered wood. The apron is edged with a frieze of heart-and-arrow motifs and accented with a twisted ribbon. The front features a central clasp flanked by acanthus scrolls, whilst the sides are decorated in a similar style. The mounting blocks are embellished with swirling rosettes. The four tapered, fluted legs are embellished with acanthus scrolls and joined by an X-shaped brace, enhanced by interlaced friezes and an antique vase at its centre. The piece rests on small spindle-shaped feet. Top in veined white marble. Northern Italy. Crafted in the 18th-century style.
