Description
A rectangular chest of drawers inlaid with a neoclassical-style design in boxwood and walnut veneer, with composite fillets, featuring three drawers running the full length. The top is adorned with a large acanthus rosette, edged with mouldings against a scrollwork background, surrounded by a band. The front features three panels decorated with a festoon garland; the first is enhanced with rosettes, whilst the second and third feature eagles with outstretched wings holding stems in their beaks. The sides depict antique-style vases within frieze frames. The upright sides rest on sheathed legs. Northern Italy. Lombardy. Early Neoclassical period. Circa 1770
