Another version of this portrait, excessively close, is catalogued by E. Bréton and P. Zuber, Louis-Léopold Boilly
(1761-1845). Le peintre de la société parisienne de Louis XVI à Louis-Philippe, Paris, 2019, vol. II, no. 1300 PP (private collection). There are slight differences, particularly in the placement of the red buttons. The model had already been portrayed by Boilly in a similar composition earlier (op. cit. p.706, no. 1097PP).
