LAPPARA & GABRIEL Empire-style silver hors d’oeuvres/petit fours set comprising 4 pieces, including: - 1 petit fours server, with a scoop decorated with an engraved design of a winged flaming torch. L: 16.7 and 14.5 cm; - 1 petit four scoop with openwork foliage decoration. L: 14.5 cm; - 1 spoon with a polylobed, openwork bowl. L: 14.8 cm. Decorated with water leaves, fleurons, palmettes, a cascade of flowers and a flaming torch surrounded by swan’s wings. Design by Baron GERARD, painter to the Empire (1770–1837). Handles adorned with a laurel wreath. Back of the handles bearing a stylised, interlaced monogram: ‘MH’. First-title Minerva hallmarks. Goldsmiths’ hallmarks: LAPPARRA & GABRIEL (“LG” and rat), active from 1902 to 1923. Weight: 117.3 grams.
