A set of 6 silver plates with scalloped rims, decorated with fillets and twisted gadroons.
The rims are engraved with a coat of arms supported by foliage.
Hallmarks for LONDON 1756–1776 and the date letter ‘n’ for the year 1768.
Master silversmith’s mark: (“IW” and a dot), attributable to either John WELDRING or James WIBURD (who practised around 1770–1772 according to Arthur GRIMWAD’s work: *London Goldsmiths 1697–1837: Their Marks And Lives From The Original, 1982).
Each plate bears an inventory number: “No. 52’14’16; No. 53'14'19; No. 51'14'16/2; No. 49 14'17/2; No. 53'14'13 and No. 50'14'12/2.
