Silver liqueur set comprising 9 goblets, with vermeil interiors (gold on silver).
Japanese-inspired decoration
Depictions of insects (dragonfly, wasp, bee and butterfly) and leafy branches (reeds, vine tendrils) on a frosted background.
The plant motifs vary according to the insects depicted.
Each goblet features a handle shaped like a butterfly with gilded wings.
Minerva hallmarks, 1st standard. Wild boar’s head hallmarks on the wings of the butterfly-shaped handle
Signatures of the master silversmith in full beneath the base: “F. NICOUD 19 Bt de Strasbourg, Paris”, engraved in 1875 and struck through in 1880.
