Description
CARDEILHAC-CHRISTOFLE Art Deco-style silver fish serving set in the rare ‘COMMODORE’ design. The set comprises 12 pieces of cutlery (12 forks and 12 knives) and 2 serving spoons; a total of 26 pieces. This collection, created in silver for the Milan Design Triennial in 1951, features “clean lines and broad, generous forms”, accentuated by a reed-pattern decoration on the handles. Minerva hallmarks, 1st standard. Master silversmith’s hallmarks: CARDEILHAC. Length / Weight of serving pieces: 21.5–23.5 cm / 221.4 grams. Length / Weight of the forks: 17.5 cm / 694.2 grams. Length / Weight of the knives: 20.3 cm / 796 grams. Total weight: 1,711.6 grams.
