PARIS 1798–1809 Silver mustard pot dating from the late 18th century to the Empire period, with an inner crystal insert. Decorated sides, partly in the Amati style, surmounted by lion’s muzzles. Palmette frieze decoration. ‘Rooster’ hallmarks indicating 1st standard (.950) and the Paris hallmark for 1798–1809. Master silversmith’s hallmarks: Charles-Louis BOURGOUIN (mark featuring the initials ‘CLB’, a pilaster and a star above), qualified in 1780. Height: 12 cm.
