Description
LAPPARRA & GABRIEL Set of 6 Empire-style silver teaspoons. Decorated with water leaves, fleurons, palmettes, cascading flowers and a flaming torch surrounded by swan’s wings. Design by Baron GERARD, painter to the Empire (1770–1837). The handles of the spoons are adorned with a laurel wreath. The backs of the spoons bear a stylised interlaced monogram: ‘MH’ (with the exception of one spoon). First-title Minerva hallmarks. Goldsmiths’ hallmarks: LAPPARRA & GABRIEL (“LG” and a rat), in business from 1902 to 1923 (except for one bearing the “HL” hallmark and a rat for Henri LAPPARRA, struck in 1923). Length: 14 cm. Weight: 149.6 grams.
