PARIS 1766 Large round silver dish from the Louis XV period, of the ‘filets contours’ style; the rim engraved with a coat of arms surmounted by a ducal/princely crown. The coat of arms corresponds to that of COEURDEROY (also known as COEUR DE ROY) in the 1st and 3rd quarters of the quartered field (the coats of arms in the 2nd and 4th quarters remain to be identified); they incorporate the external ornamentation of 18th-century Presidents wearing a mortier, probably for Michel-Joseph COEURDEROY, President of the Court of Lorraine.
