ODIOT and GRANVIGNE Silver christening set: a cup and a set of cutlery. The cutlery (fork and spoon), ‘baguette’ style. The plain cup with a slightly flared rim. Minerva hallmark, 1st standard. Gustave ODIOT’s hallmark (O and antique blade), granted in 1865, and full signature: “ODIOT A PARIS” on the goblet. Master silversmith’s hallmarks: (“JG” and a bunch of grapes) for Jean Granvigne (active in Paris between 1868 and 1889). Cup dimensions: H: 7 cm / Diam.: 6.4 cm. Length of the set: 17.2 cm / 17 cm Weight: 208.9 grams. In a pretty ODIOT-shaped case lined with plum-coloured leather. The lid features an embossed design of a garland of flowers and foliage in gold, with the initials: "A.C". Interior lined with burgundy velvet and suede. Signed: "ODIOT ORFEVRE A PARIS" (shows signs of wear). Case dimensions: 8 x 26.5 x 8.7 cm
