PARIS 1710 A pair of fly swatters with their original tray, a silver set dating from the Louis XIV period. The tray features a filleted rim with a side handle in the form of a volute and a leaf-shaped thumb rest, all resting on four feet. A pair of fly swatters and their tray, engraved with a coat of arms surmounted by a helmet. The set is hallmarked with the charge and discharge hallmarks for PARIS 1704–1712 and the guild hallmarks for PARIS 1710. Hallmarks of master silversmith François MERANTE (FM and a star), admitted to the guild in 1708. The master silversmith’s hallmark appears 13 times. Length / Width / weight of the tray: 19.7 cm / 9 cm / 280 g. Length / weight of the side plates: 17.4 cm / 114 g. Total weight: 395 grams.
