VIENNA, 1818–1819 (Austria) Set of 4 circular boxes with silver lids (spice boxes?) Lids decorated with the coat of arms of the FESTETICS family of TOLNA (Croatia, Hungary) and a frieze of small flowers and posts around the edge. So-called ‘wheel’ hallmark for 812-thousandths 1/2 silver (13 löthige) used in Vienna in 1818 and 1819. Vienna (Austria) hallmarks: “Tf.A”, used from 1810 to 1824. Revenue mark: “VR”, used circa 1811–1824. Presumed master goldsmith’s mark: (“B” within a shield) on 2 boxes. Three boxes bearing the inscription: “15 löthige”. H: between 5.5 and 4.5 cm diameter: between 9 and 8 cm Total weight: 870 grams. Signs of wear; small hole for a lid. SUBJECT TO INSPECTION
