Description
LAPPARRA & GABRIEL Set of 12 Empire-style silver oyster forks. Decorated with water leaves, fleurons, palmettes, cascading flowers and a flaming torch surrounded by swan’s wings. Design by Baron GERARD, painter to the Empire (1770–1837). The prong attachments are adorned with a laurel wreath. The backs of the blades bear a stylised interlaced monogram: ‘HD’. First-title Minerva hallmarks. Goldsmiths’ hallmarks: LAPPARRA & GABRIEL (“LG” and a rat), active from 1902 to 1923. Length: 13.1 cm Weight: 272.3 grams.
