Miscellaneous collection of silver items, mainly English, from the late 19th to early 20th century, comprising: - a large egg spoon, ‘filet-contour’ style. Hallmarks for GLASGOW (Scotland) dating from between 1820 and 1850. Includes a presumed date letter ‘E’ for 1824 (?); the ‘George IV’ duty mark; and the silversmith’s mark: ‘PA’, probably for Peter AITKEN I, active between 1824 and 1850. L: 13 cm; - 1 spoon, plain-bottomed design. Spatula decorated with an engraved wild boar near a tree. Traces of hallmarks to be identified, including a date letter “D”. L: 17.5 cm; - 1 salt spoon, plain-spoon style. English fineness mark featuring a lion passant, date letter “S” and duty mark: “George IV”. Includes silversmith’s mark: “PBAP”? L: 8.2 cm; - a two-pronged fork, plain-bladed style, with ‘lancet’ tips. English hallmarks and date letter ‘y’, probably for BIRMINGHAM 1923. Includes silversmith’s mark: ‘BO Ltd’? L: 10.5 cm. Silver weight: 55.7 grams. Also included are three silver-plated items, comprising a ladle with an orange-coloured resin handle, a small fork bearing the monogram ‘LC’ within a shield, and a spoon decorated with a fluted border and scrolls.
