PARIS 1769 A pair of silver candlesticks with their candle holders. Circular bowl decorated with fillets (without candle holder) Triangular-section shaft decorated with volutes and shells. Base with a flowing, stepped shape and clasps. Hallmarks (trace of a ‘floreted A’ for the candle holders and a flower for the candlesticks) and the PARIS hallmark for 1768–1774. Guild hallmark: (‘F’ crowned) for PARIS 1769. Master goldsmith’s hallmark: (‘CFL’ crowned) for Christoph-François LEGAST, admitted in 1769. Candlesticks re-hallmarked with the crab mark. Height: 28.2 cm Base diameter: 15.2 cm. Weight: approximately 1335 grams.
