TOULON 1751 A rare, large silver chocolate pot in a baluster shape. Rests on three feet with scroll-shaped cartouche mounts, featuring matching decoration at the handle attachment. The spout is encircled halfway up by a band with palmettes on the lower section and a cascading seed motif. The body is engraved with a prominent coat of arms (of the Provençal De Geoffroy du Rouret family), framed by unicorns, the whole surmounted by a count’s crown. Original handle, re-polished. Hallmarks for TOULON 1751. Hallmarks of the master goldsmith: Laurent BOULLET I (hallmark with the initials ‘LB’, two dots, all crowned), qualified in 1719.
