Venice, Johannis dicti magni (John the Great), 1484; A substantial volume, in 4°, bound in full brown morocco, with rich gilt decoration; the covers adorned with a mosaic-style design; the endpapers and half-ends lined with highly ornate blue calfskin; gilt edges. Bound circa 1840. A copy of this extremely rare edition of the Bible, produced in Venice. A very fine initial letter, decorated with painted designs and gilded highlights on the first folio of the prologue; numerous initial letters painted in blue or red throughout the volume.
